
Marsha Meketon Schamber
Marsha Meketon Schamber graduated Pennsylvania State University with a BFA. She received a Master in Art Education from the University of the Arts. She attended Tyler School of Art for advanced courses in printmaking and ceramics.
Schamber was an art teacher for the School District of Philadelphia for over thirty years. She served as a cooperating teacher for student teachers for several art colleges for over twenty five years. She was a grant coordinator for The Pennsylvania Council for the Arts. She was a finalist for The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts Teacher of the Year Award.
Schamber has had many one person shows in Philadelphia. She has exhibited at The Sedgwick Gallery, The Temple University Student Center, The D'Antonio Gallery, and the Penn State Ogontz Campus Gallery. She has also exhibited at the New Deal Gallery in the Federal Building in Sarasota, the Uptown Gallery and the Venice Art Center.
Marsha has worked in a variety of media including printmaking, pottery, and painting. Her work reflects her life. She makes art intuitively and abstractly.
Marsha’s work is in many private collections in New York, San Diego, Israel, San Francisco and Philadelphia. She is currently President of The Clay Studio in Venice, Florida.
